Michael Bay has revealed that he is yet to be convinced to shoot the third Transformers movie in 3D.

Since the success of Avatar 3D has become cinema's big trend but Bay explained that the 3D cameras were too big when trying to shoot action scenes.

In an interview with Deadline the filmmaker said: "I shoot complicated stuff. I put real elements into action scenes and honestly, I am not sold right now on the conversion process."

"I am trying to be sold, and some companies are still working on the shots I gave them. Right now, it looks like fake 3D, with layers that are very apparent.

"People can say whatever they want about my movies, but they are technically precise and if this isn't going to be excellent, I don't want to do it. And it is my choice.

"I'm used to having the A-team working on my films and I'm going to hand it over to the D-team, have it shipped to India and hope for the best?"

Avatar broke through the $2 billion barrier to become the biggest grossing movie of all time, toppling Titanic.

And it's a 3D movie that currently sits at the top of the U.S. and UK box office, in the form of Alice In Wonderland.

The 3D trend looks set to continue with Clash of the Titans released next week.
