Michael Fassbender has described Ridley Scott as a 'joy' to work with.

The actor is back on the big screen this summer as he takes on the role of David in Ridley Scott's return to sci-fi.

Prometheus is a movie that is shrouded in mystery and promises to be one of the best science fiction projects of the year.

Prometheus is the first time that Fassbender has had a chance to work with Scott on a movie and he admits that he was nervous.

Speaking to Flicks And Bits the actor said: "It was a lot of fun. I was pretty nervous, on the first day; I didn't know what to expect.

"Then it just became like play really. Even though we were both very serious about the work, it was a joy."

Fassbender also revealed that Scott was a very collaborative filmmaker who listened to the opinions and ideas of everyone he worked with on the movie.

"No idea was stupid until we tried it and put it on the floor. If it worked it worked, if it didn't it didn't.

"What's really impressive about Ridley Scott and watching him work, you've got 350 people on set, and each department has got to come and bring their top game to set."

Fassbender has mixed and matched his roles so far this year moving from drama with Shame and A Dangerous Method to action with Haywire and now sci-fi.

Prometheus is released 1st June
