Michael Sheen has revealed that it is sometimes a struggle balancing work with being a parent.

The actor is father to eleven year old Lily, who lives with her mother Kate Beckinsale, and tries to spend as much time as possible with his daughter.

Striking the right balance is a tough juggling act for all parents

Speaking to MSN Movies the actor said: "I think parenthood is a wonderful balancing act - on the one hand, you want to spend as much time with your children as possible.

"On the other hand, you want to set an example for them to see that you're fulfilled in your life and in your work.

"I want my daughter to grow up and do something that she's passionate about and I hope that the example that her mother and I set will help her do that.

"At the same time, I don't want to let work take over and become my priority in life. Striking the right balance is a tough juggling act for all parents - and it's something we all struggle with."

And Sheen is back on the big screen this December with his new movie Tron: Legacy, which sees him work alongside Jeff Bridges.

He has already has huge success this year when he voiced the character of the White Rabbit in Alice In Wonderland, which went on to grossed over $1 billion at the box office.

And he has a whole host of projects in the pipeline with work on Resistance, Jesus Henry Christ and Midnight In Paris already complete.

He is currently filming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, which sees him reprise the role of Aro.

Tron Legacy is released 17th December.
