Monica Bellucci Honoured At Taormina Film Festival

Monica Bellucci and filmmaker Oliver Stone were handed the top prizes at Italy's Taormina Film Festival at the weekend (11-12Jun11).
 
Bellucci picked up the Taormina Art Award, the festival's top honor for achievement in the cinema industry, at a special ceremony on Saturday (11Jun11).
 
Platoon director Stone picked up the same prize the following day (12Jun11), before attending a screening of his movie Alexander Revisited: The Final Unrated Cut.
 
Bellucci and Stone are in good company as Taormina Art Award honorees - Robert De Niro, Catherina Deneuve and Jessica Lange have all won the accolade in previous years.

Bellucci is back on the big screen later this year for The Whistleblower, which sees her team up with Oscar winner Rachel Weisz.

She has also completed work on Un ete brulant and Rhinos Season.
