Daniel Craig has revealed that the next Bond movie will not be a direct sequel to the box office hit The Quantum of Solace.

Quantum, which was Craig's second outing as superspy 007, carried on the events of Caspian Royale, which was released in 2006.

He told Collier: "I'm done with that story. I want to lie on a beach for the first half an hour of the next movie drinking a cocktail."

"We've finished this story as far as I'm concerned. We've got a great set of bad guys. There is an organisation that we can use whenever we want to. The relationship between Bond and M is secure and Felix is secure."

Quantum, which was released in October, continued the story of Bond's romance with Vesper Lynd as he tried to track down the organisation that killed her and the reasons behind it.

The film was a box office smash topping both charts in the US and the UK. But in recent weeks Craig has hinted that he would like to see the return of some of the franchises traditional characters such as M.
