Nigel Cole has revealed that he was keen to read the All In Good Time script when he heard that Ayub Khan-Din had written it.
The Calendar Girls filmmaker called Khan-Din a 'real writer because he is funny and he knows how to break your heart and there are not many writers who know how to do that.'
Cole was on the red carpet earlier this week for the UK premiere of All In Good Time, which is his first movie since Made in Dagenham back in 2010.
Speaking on the red carpet that filmmaker admitted that he also liked the idea that the movie was about a family as it is something that we can all relate to.
The movie brings together stars from the hit play such as Meera Syal and Harish Patel as well as new stars Reece Ritchie and Amara Karan.
Cole is currently filming his new movie The Wedding Video which stars Lucy Punch, Miriam Margolyes and Michelle Gomez
All In Good Time is released 11th May
