Peter Jackson Confirms Bloom In The Hobbit

Peter Jackson has confirmed that Orlando Bloom will be reprising the role of Legolas in The Hobbit.

Jackson is set to return to Middle Earth as he brings The Hobbit to the big screen and Bloom has long since been linked with reprising his The Lord of the Rings role.

Writing on his Facebook page Jackson said: "Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas.

"I'm excited to announce today that we'll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more."

"I'm thrilled to be working with Orlando again. Funny thing is, I look older and he doesn't!

"I guess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf."

Bloom is not the only The Lord of the Rings star that is set to appear in the new movie with Elijah Wood and Cate Blanchett also expected to return.

Martin Freeman will lead the cast as Bilbo Baggins while Ian McKellan will reprise his role as Gandalf.
