Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has admitted that she is having to work hard on acting as she makes her big screen debut later this summer.

The Victoria's Secrets model will take on the role Carly Miller in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third movie in the franchise.

And while the actress is grateful for the opportunity to try something new she is having to work hard on her acting.

Speaking to Elle magazine the actress said: "I'm working really hard with a coach to learn to act.

"I love being part of the fashion industry but, after almost nine years as a model, I'd be a real fool to turn down the chance to try something different."

"I realise what people think. But that can't affect my life or my choices.

"I haven't claimed to be an amazing actress. I want to work, that's all. I want to pay my bills and make my family proud. I've got no criteria apart from that.

"The fact that ambition is often seen as a negative trait in women is just bulls**t. Yes I am determined.

"You have to be if you want to continue working... You have to be smart. You have to work for opportunities, It doesn't just hand itself to you."

Transformers: Dark of the Moon sees Michael Bay return to the director's chair two years after Revenge of the Fallen.

While Huntington-Whiteley is replacing Megan Fox in the movie Shia LaBeouf is back as Sam.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is released 29th June.
