Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has described the shoot of Transformers: Dark of the Moon as a boot camp.

The actress is set to replace Megan Fox in the new Transformers film, the third in the franchise, in what will also be her big screen debut.

The model takes on the role of Carly Miller, Sam Witwicky's new love interest in the movie.

Speaking to Women's Health the actress said: "Shia made it clear this wasn't just about becoming a movie star. The shooting schedule was going to be gruelling.

"You're in the sun all day long - dirty and smelly. It was like boot camp."

But the actress is not the only new face on the cast list this time around as Frances McDormand, Patrick Dempsey and John Malkovich are also new faces to the franchise.

Shia LaBeouf returns to the role of Sam while Michael Bay is back in the director's chair.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is released 29th June.
