Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson admits that she would love to star in a Black Widow movie.

The actress reprised the role from Iron Man 2 in Avengers Assemble last month where we got a real look at the character.

And Johansson finds Black Widow's back story and interesting one and hopes that she gets to explore that in a movie of her own.

Speaking to the AP the actress said: "I love her origin story. I think it's just such a riveting one.

"It's just steeped in history and the richness to shoot in Russia, perhaps.

"I hope that the fans' voice is loud enough and they want to see a Widow origin story, I know Marvel would be happy to entertain that. We've spoken a lot about it."

Johansson is expected to reprise the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 3, which is due to start filming later this year.

Johansson joined forces with Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson to bring the Avengers to the big screen for the very first time.

In just two weeks the movie has grossed in excess of $654 million at the global box office and $200.3 million in it's opening weekend in America.

Avengers Assemble is out now.
