The Scott Pilgrim vs The World movie just fell into Michael Cera's lap according to the actor.
Cera takes on the role of the title character as director Edgar Wright, the man behind Shaun of the Dead, bring the popular comic book series to the big screen.
And the actor admits that everything just fell into place as he got onboard the project.
Speaking to Teen Hollywood Cera said: "It kind of fell in my lap, really. I was just in the right place at the right time. I had a meeting with [producer] Marc Platt about it, I met with Edgar, and he was really enthusiastic about me being in it, which was amazing.
"It’s so nice to hear that from a director you respect, that they want to work with you. And I loved the graphic novel too, so it just presented itself and was just an amazing opportunity."
Scott Pilgrim vs The World is only the second movie of the year for Cera after starring in Youth In revolt back in February.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World is release 25th August.
