Shame

Shame

Momentum Pictures, an Alliance Films company, is proud to announce that Steve McQueen’s Shame, starring Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan, will have its UK premiere at the 55th BFI London International Film Festival on Friday 14th October.

Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a 30-something man living comfortably in New York balancing a busy job and active social life.

When the wayward Sissy (Carey Mulligan), turns up at his apartment unannounced, Brandon’s carefully managed lifestyle spirals out of control.

From award winning director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us.

Produced by Iain Canning and Emile Sherman (The King’S Speech), Shame received its world premiere, playing in competition, at the Venice International Film Festival and will feature at the Toronto International Film Festival on 11th September.

Shame’s co-writer Abi Morgan will also take part in a BFI London Film Festival Masterclass on Saturday 15th October.

Shame is released in UK cinemas 13 January 2012
