Vanessa Paradis has revealed that her new movie Heartbreaker reminds her of the great old classic movies and that drew her to the project.
The actress is back on the big screen this week alongside Romain Duris in the Pascal Chaumeil directed movie.
Paradis told The Observer that she read through the script with partner Johnny Depp who encouraged her to take on the role of Juliette Van Der Becq.
Speaking to newspaper she said: "We were all saying, suddenly, when it was made, that it was sort of the best of the French and the British types of these films, which is rare, and why it works.
"Even when I was reading the script, my partner said, 'This is amazing, this could be great'."
She added: "It reminded us of the best old films - Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn. And Pascal Chaumeil was directing, so I knew I wanted it."
Heartbreaker is the first movie for Paradis since The Key back in 2007.
Heartbreaker is released 2nd July.
