Woody Allen

Woody Allen has described himself as 'lucky' to have creative control on the movies that he makes.

He is back behind the camera with his latest project, Midnight In Paris, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival last week.

And the filmmaker has admitted that he is free to make which ever casting decisions that he sees fit.

Speaking to USA Today the filmmaker said: "I have been lucky... I haven't had anybody telling me who to cast in my movies. I control all of them."

"If I want to put unknowns in all the parts, I can do it. Or I cast people strictly for the correctness for the role.

"It doesn't matter if they are stars or upcoming. If they are right for the role, that's really what I want."

Midnight In Paris is the first film for Allen since You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.
