We are huge fans of Robert Redford here at FemaleFirst and he is back on the big screen this autumn with adventure/comedy A Walk In The Woods.

A Walk In The Woods

A Walk In The Woods

A Walk In The Woods is based on the memoir by Bill Bryson and has been adapted into a screenplay by Rick Kerb and Bill Holderman, while Ken Kwapis is in the director's chair.

Kwapis has been behind movies such as He's Just Not That Into You and License to Wed during his career and this is his first feature film since Big Miracle back in 2012.

The brand new trailer for the film has arrived and we have it for you to check it out:

Redford takes on the central role of Bill Bryson, who returns to the U.S. after twenty years of living in the UK. He wants to reconnect with his country and decides to walk the Appalachian Trail.

Nick Nolte is on board as Katz - who undertakes this adventure with him - while Emma Thompson, Mary Steenburgen, Nick Offerman, and Kristen Schaal are all also on board.

In this new comedy adventure, celebrated travel writer, Bill Bryson (Redford), instead of retiring to enjoy his loving and beautiful wife (Thompson), and large and happy family, challenges himself to hike the Appalachian Trail - 2,200 miles of America's most unspoiled, spectacular and rugged countryside from Georgia to Maine.

The peace and tranquility he hopes to find, though, is anything but, once he agrees to being accompanied by the only person he can find willing to join him on the trek - his long lost and former friend Katz (Nolte), a down-on-his-luck serial philanderer who, after a lifetime of relying on his charm and wits to keep one step ahead of the law - sees the trip as a way to sneak out of paying some debts and sneak into one last adventure before its too late.

The trouble is, the two have a completely different definition of the word, 'adventure'. Now they're about to find out that when you push yourself to the edge, the real fun begins.

A Walk In The Woods is released 11th September.
