Akinnuoye-Agbaje is best known for his work in the likes of Thor: The Dark World, G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra and TV series Hunted and Lost in recent years, but now he is set to take on the role of Killer Croc, according to The Wrap.

Suicide Squad is based on the D.C. Comic of the same name and will bring together a group of villains to help save the world. David Ayer is in the director's chair to helm the first comic book movie of his career.

The cameras haven't started rolling on the film, and yet it is already one of the most anticipated films of 2016 - I really cannot wait to see what Ayer and co deliver.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje is joining an all-star cast as Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margo Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, and Cara Delevingne are already on board.

And the casting of Akinnuoye-Agbaje comes just hours after it was confirmed that Scott Eastwood would also be joining the film. It has not yet been revealed which character Eastwood will be playing.

As for Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Suicide Squad will see him make the leap from Marvel to D.C. Comics, after appearing in Thor: The Dark World back in 2013.

Suicide Squad will be the first time that Akinnuoye-Agbaje has teamed up with filmmaker Ayer, who is returning to the director's chair for the first time since Fury.

And we are going to be seeing plenty of Akinnuoye-Agbaje on the big screen this year, as he has already completed work on Trumbo and Concussion.

Suicide Squad is released 5th August 2016.
