Wasikowska has reprised the role of Alice Kingsleigh in Alice Through The Looking Glass, which comes six years after the billion dollar success of the first time.

And while the actress is playing the same role, she says she has a much stronger sense of who she is this time around.

Speaking at the European premiere in London earlier this week, Wasikowska said: "I liked how in this story she comes from a really empowered place as she has been travelling the world for the last two years. She has a really strong sense of who she is, I loved that."

Alice Through The Looking Glass does explore some interesting themes and messages and the actress reveals that being who you are is one of the best.

She continued: "There are so many messages but being who you are and comfortable with that. I like that Alice holds onto this sense that she is worth more than what people expect of her, which is to get married and be a wife. I think that is really special."

The movie sees Wasikowska reunite with Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Helena Bonham Carter while Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, and Michael Sheen will lend their voices once again.

Sacha Baron Cohen and Rhys Ifans are new on the cast list and will take on the roles of Time and Zanik Hightopp.

Alice Through The Looking Glass is the first time that we will see Wasikowska on the big screen since Crimson Peak. She has already completed work on HHhH, which will be out later this year.

Alice In Wonderland is released 27th May.
