Allison Janney

Allison Janney

Allison Janney said 'yes' to bad Words before she had read the script.

Janney will reunite with Jason Bateman as the actor is set to make his directorial debut with the project.

The pair worked together on Juno, but never actually shared any on-screen time, and Janney admits that she wanted the chance to work with him again.

Speaking to Screen Rant, the actress said: "I wish that we had dated and that he was my husband. I met him funnily enough on Juno, but we didn’t have any scenes together.

"I met him on the press tour and absolutely fell in love with him. They would break us up into groups and I was always in his group and he just made me laugh so hard. He’s so fun to be around.

"Juno was in 2007 and I said: 'Please can we do something together./ And this finally happened. I said yes before I read the script!"

Bateman will take the central role in the film, as well as being in the director's chair. Kathryn Hahn, Ben Falcone and Philip Baker Hall are all also on board.

Bad Words is just one of the film projects that we will be seeing Janney in this year, as she has also completed work on Tammy, The Rewrite and Days and Nights.

Bad Words is released later this year.
