Ansel Elgort has revealed that he cried while watching The Fault In Our Stars.
Elgort take on the central role of Gus alongside Shailene Woodley in the adaptation of the much-loved John Green novel.
The movie follows Hazel and Gus, both cancer sufferers who are trying to live their lives with the disease. And Elgort says it was an emotional watch for him.
Speaking to the Press Association, the actor said: "I cried plenty, especially at the moments where my character would cry.
"It was like going back to being there. All of a sudden, you're watching yourself crying and it's like you think, 'I remember feeling that way on the day', and then I started crying. Any moment I had to cry, I would cry. I cried a lot."
The Fault In Our Stars marks the second time that Elgort as worked with Woodley, having played brother and sister in Divergent.
Elgort is currently reprising the role of Caleb, as filming on Insurgent has just got under way.
