Ben-Bur is one of the biggest and most iconic movies of all time and we are set to see it return to the big screen this summer, courtesy of director Timur Bekmambetov.

Ben-Hur

Ben-Hur

Jack Huston takes over the central role of Judah Ben-Hur and the British actor features in the first image from the upcoming film - which sees him riding in the chariot race.

The movie sees Bekmambetov back in the director's chair for the first time since Yolki 1914 as Lew Wallace's novel is adapted for the big screen once again.

A great cast has been assembled as we see Toby Kebbell, Morgan Freeman, Nazanin Boniadi, Pilou Asbæk, and Rodrigo Santoro take on the roles of Messala, Ilderim, Esther, Pontius Pilate, and Jesus.

Haluk Bilginer, Marwan Kenzari, Moises Arias, Yasen Atour, Ayelet Zurer, and Sofia Black-D'Elia complete the cast list.

Ben Hur

It was back in 1959 when Charlton Heston took on the role of Ben-Hur for the first time - the chariot race remains one of the most iconic cinematic moments of all time. The film went on to win eleven Oscars, including Best Picture.

2016 has already been a busy year for Huston as we have seen him in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Hail, Caesar! He has also completed work on The Yellow Birds and Their Finest Hour and a Half.

Ben-Hur is released 26th August.
