Channing Tatum has been confirmed as the actor who will play Gambit, by X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner.
Earlier this year Donner revealed that Tatum was her choice to take on the role... and now it seems that she has got her name.
Speaking to Total Film, Donner said: "It is Channing."
"He's a rogue, he's a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. He can handle the action, as we know, and he's got a real good heart, I know him personally."
"He'll be great for Gambit, and he's a southerner too, he understands that world, and you know Gambit loves New Orleans."
When we will be seeing Gambit on the big screen is not yet known: it could be in an X-Men film, or in a solo movie.
Work has already started on X-Men: Apocalypse, and we could potentially see Tatum make an appearance in that.
Bryan Singer has already started work on the script
with Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris, and Michael Dougherty.
The X-Men are back next week as X-Men: Days of Future Past hits the big screen: it is set to be one of the biggest movies of the year.
However, we will have a two year wait for X-Men: Apocalypse, as it will be released in May 2016.
