Dad's Army is set to be one of the unmissable British films of 2016 and the brand new poster for the film has been unveiled.

Dad's Army

Dad's Army

Dad's Army is set to be one of the early must see films of next year and is based on the classic sitcom of the same name. The movie sees Oliver Parker in the director's chair and will bring these great characters to a new generation.

A wonderful cast has been assembled for the film as Toby Jones, Bill Nighy, Michael Gambon, Tom Courtenay, Blake Harrison, Daniel Mays, and Bill Paterson take over the roles of Captain Mainwaring, Sergeant Wilson, Private Godfrey, Lance Corporal Jones, Private Pike, Private Walker, and Private Frazer.

The cast really is a who's who of British acting talent and the line-up is completed by Catherine Zeta Jones, Mark Gatiss, Sarah Lancashire, Alison Steadman, and Annette Crosbie.

It is 1944 and World War II is reaching its climax. The Allies are poised to invade France and finally defeat the German army. But in Walmington-on-Sea morale amongst the Home Guard is low. Their new mission then - to patrol the Dover army base - is a great chance to revive spirits and reputation, that is until glamorous journalist Rose Winters arrives to write about their exploits, setting the pulses racing and putting the local women on red alert.

MI5 then discover a radio signal sent direct to Berlin from Walmington-on-Sea. There's a spy on the loose! The outcome of the war is suddenly at stake, and it falls to our unlikely heroes to stand up and be counted.

There has been a lot of excitement ever since it was announced that the new Dad's Army movie was going ahead and I am looking forward to seeing a new generation of actors paying homage to the classic original.

Dad's Army is released 5th February 2016.
