The 23-year-old actress plays the role of mute woman Liv in the western film alongside Guy Pearce and Kit Harington, and although the star was scripted as being a silent woman after having her tongue cut out, she struggled to remain voiceless and altered the script to make it "work" for her, which "excited" her.

Speaking to ET Online about the production, she said: "I didn't stay quiet, I don't think.

"I don't think I've ever stayed quiet in my entire life.

"Oh, no! No way! Not possible."

"Obviously words are a necessary part of making a film and a necessary part of acting, but they can provide sometimes a bigger challenge. You're saying lines that have been written by someone else and sometimes they can feel funny in your mouth. But they have to be said. And that's your job, to figure out a way to make them work. I actually found this - obviously challenging, but I was really excited by it."

And the blonde beauty who started her acting career at an early age tries to approach every movie with "pure love" and a "very childlike spirit" that she had when she was younger, although she is selective about the projects she takes on.

The 'I Am Sam' star said: "When I was younger, I kept doing this because I found it fun. It made me happy. I think that I still approach what I do with a very childlike spirit. That hasn't changed. I don't do what I do for any of the other stuff that comes with being an actor. I really do it for the experience of making work and actually being on set. That's what I live for. That's where I've always felt most myself.

Obviously I've grown up and learned and matured and, of course, I see things differently - obviously - but I think I still approach it with that kind of wonderful ... Naivety is the wrong word. I approach it from the place I always have, of just pure love."
