Edgar Wright has hinted that the villain for Ant Man saying he will come from the 'hero's technology'.

Wright will be back in the director's chair for Ant Man - which will be part of Phase Three of Marvel movies.

And while Wright didn't go on to name just who the villain is going to be he says he is going to keep the film simple like Iron Man.

Speaking to The Huffington Post the director said: "What Ant-Man does is enough for one movie. It's why I think Iron Man is extremely successful because it keeps it really simple. You have one sort of - the villain comes from the hero's technology.

"It's simple. So I think why that film really works and why, sometimes, superhero films fail - or they have mixed results - because they have to set up a hero and a villain at the same time. And that's really tough. And sometimes it's unbalanced."

Ant Man is a movie project that has been on the cards for some time as Wright teamed up with Joe Cornish to pen the screenplay.

No cast has yet been announced for the movie but production is expected to get underway at some point next year.

Ant Man is expected to hit the big screen at the back end of 2015.
