We have already been treated to images and character poster from Pan so far this week, and now the first trailer for the movie has arrived… and I have to say, it looks like it is going to be a real treat.

I have been a fan of Joe Wright's work for some time with the likes of Pride & Prejudice, Atonement and Hanna under his belt, but this see him tackle a child's fairy story for the first time as the movie puts a new spin on the classic story that we all know by J.M. Barrie.

Pan promises to be action packed, heart-warming, and funny and the brand new trailer really does promise much - we have it you to take a look at:

It is always great to see Hugh Jackman on this big screen and he has undergone quite the transformation to play Blackbeard in the film. We don't often seem him play the villain, but the trailer suggests that he is going to thrive in the eccentricities of the role.

Garrett Hedlund and Rooney Mara are on board as classic characters James Hook and Tiger Lily, while we are introduced to Levi Miller in the central role of Peter.

This is only the second film for Miller, but it is the first major speaking part for the young actor - it really does look like Wright has found a young acting gem.

Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, the action adventure follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny-to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

We have seen some of our classic fairy tale characters get live action movies of their own in recent years - Snow White and the Huntsman, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and Maleficent are just some that spring to mind - and Pan is the latest to get a big screen and live action makeover.

Pan really does look like it is going to be a whole lot of fun, and it is already one of the summer 2015 movies that I cannot wait to see.

Pan is released July 2015.
