Having launched globally on Netflix, the Angelina Jolie-directed film First They Killed My Father is making some big waves with critics and the general public alike. Now, a featurette delving deeply into the true story behind the movie has been revealed, which you can watch below:

Adapting Cambodian author and human rights activist Loung Ung’s memoir of the same name, which chronicles her survival of the deadly Khmer Rouge regime from 1975-78 when she was just five, the story is told through her eyes and depicts the spirit that Loung and her family had to find to stay together during those terrifying years.

Produced by Jolie alongside Cambodian director and producer Rithy Panh, the film is executive produced by Maddox Jolie-Pitt, Loung Ung, Adam Somner, Michael Vieira and Charles Schissel, with Academy Award winner Anthony Dod Mantle serving as director of photography.
