There's less than a week to go until Gods of Egypt hits the big screen and the film marks the return of Alex Proyas to the director's chair.

Proyas has brought us movies such as The Crow and I, Robot during his career and this is his first feature film since Knowing back in 2009.
This time around, the director has teamed up with Gerard Butler for the first time as he takes on the central role of Set, the merciless god of darkness.
Butler is joined on the cast list by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Geoffrey Rush, Rufus Sewell, Élodie Yung, and Courtney Eaton.

The survival of mankind hangs in the balance as an unexpected mortal hero Bek (Thwaites) undertakes a thrilling journey to save the world.
In order to succeed, he must enlist the help of the powerful and vengeful god Horus (Coster-Waldau) in an unlikely alliance against Set (Butler), the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt's throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict.
As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the epic final confrontation.
Gods of Egypt is released 17th June.
