Berry first took on the role of Storm back in 2000 and returned to the franchise last year with X-Men: Days of Future Past.

We have already seen Wolverine get his own spin-off series of movies and Berry says she would love to do it - however, she admits that time may not be on her side.

Speaking to Deadline, the Oscar winning actress said: "If it's before I'm 65-years-old, I would absolutely do it. In a heartbeat I would do a Storm movie. I love that character through and through.

"So if that ever became an opportunity for me if it's before I'm 65-years old I would absolutely do that."

But the actress admits that the film would only go ahead if the studio was confident that it would be a commercial success at the box office.

She continued: "Well, I think they should do it. If the fans want that the fans need to speak up and I'm sure it would be a possibility. If Fox felt like they could make money off of a Storm movie I'm sure it would be a possibility."

We will not be seeing Halle Berry reprise her role as storm in X-Men: Apocalypse, which is due to hit the big screen next year. We are going to see a younger version of the character and Alexandra Shipp will take over the role for the first time.

X-Men: Apocalypse will see Bryan Singer back in the director's chair, while Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Nicholas Hoult will all be returning to the franchise. Olivia Munn, Sophie Turner, Oscar Isaac, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Tye Sheridan are some of the other new additions to the cast list.

As for Berry, she is set to return for a second series of Extant and she has completed work on film Kidnap. Kidnap will be the first time we have seen her on the big screen since the success of Days of Future Past last year and sees her team up with director Luis Prieto.
