Helen Mirren reveals that she likes the idea of retiring but has never gotten close to leaving her movie work behind.

The Oscar winner is as in demand as ever and she says she may never retire because she loved working far too much.

Speaking to the Daily Express the actress said: "It is hard to let go of the creativity involved and the attention you get.

"I like the idea of retiring but I never seem to get any nearer actually to doing it.

"Maybe I never will. I can't see it happening because I love working too much."

This summer we are going to be seeing Mirren reprise the role of Victoria in action franchise Red 2 - a movie that teams her up with Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Catherine Zeta Jones.

She will also be lending her voice to Monsters University this week as Dean Hardscrabble - one of the new characters in the animation sequel.

Last week it was announced that she had joined the cast of The Hundred Foot Journey. The movie is based on the novel by Richard C. Morais and will be directed by Lasse Hallstrom.

Red 2 is released 2nd August.
