Imogen Poots has revealed that she is inspired by actresses who ‘challenge themselves’ when it comes to their movie choices.

Poots has already had a busy and successful 2014, with the likes of Need For Speed, That Awkward Moment and The Long Way Down already under her belt: which has seen her go from blockbuster, to comedy to novel adaptation.

And Poots reveals that it is the likes of Kristen Scott Thomas and Shirley Henderson are the types of actresses that she really looks up to, as they are so diverse in their character and role choices.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz, the actress said: "These incredible women who really challenge themselves again and again, they're like chameleons, they adapt.

"They are a huge inspiration and they inspire me to be the most terrific actress I can be."

Poots continues to mix and match her roles, as she will be back on the big screen later this year with Knight of Cups. The movie will see her work with director Terrence Malick for the first time, while Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett are also on board.

She has also completed work on Squirrels to the Nuts, which is the latest film from director Peter Bogdanovich.

The movie will see her return to the comedy genre, as she stars alongside Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson and Rhys Ifans.
