Shailene Woodley is set to reprise the role as Tris Prior next year, as Insurgent is set to hit the big screen… and the first teaser trailer for the movie is here.

Divergent was released earlier this year and is the latest young adult novel to be adapted for the big screen. Work on the sequel is already complete, and it is set to be another action packed roles for the young actress.

Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have released the first trailer for the movie, which shows Tris trying to save her mother - played by Ashley Judd:

There are plenty of familiar faces on the cast list as Theo James, Kate Winslet, Miles Teller, Jay Courtney, Maggie Q and Ray Stevenson will all reprise their roles. However, there are a few new faces to watch out for, as Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts, and Suki Waterhouse will all make their first appearances in the franchise.

It is also all change in the director's chair as Robert Schwentke takes over from Neil Burger. Schwentke has been behind films such as Red and The Time Traveller's Wife, but this is his first movie since the release of R.I.P.D. last year.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite.

Racing against time, they must find out what Tris's family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

Sadly, the new trailer doesn't offer us too much insight into the movie and what is going to happen - the trailer only really works for those who have read the book and know what is going on - fingers crossed we get some new and more informative footage soon.

Insurgent is released 20th March 2015
