The 21-year-old actor - who is the son of Hollywood legend Val Kilmer - will take on the role of Michael, the frontman of an American punk rock band, in the upcoming drama centred around the real events of the November 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris which left 130 people dead.

'Violent Delights' will be directed by Rachel Palumbo, and will follow the story of a diverse group of musicians and art students who find themselves caught up in the crossfire of a Parisian terrorist attack.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie centres on two groups: the rock band fronted by Jack's character Michael - who also team up with two expressionist painters - and a young man (played by Timur Magomedgadzhiev) from an immigrant family, both living in the French capital at the time of the horrific attacks.

The script for the project is being penned by Taylor Laughlin, who will also produce the feature alongside Bruce Nahin. Kelsey Roberts is on board to serve as the executive producer.

Production for the movie is slated to begin in the summer, with shooting taking place in both Paris and Los Angeles.

No release date has yet been confirmed for the project, nor has any other cast.

Meanwhile, Jack was previously announced as one of the starring roles of the James Franco directed romantic drama 'The Pretenders', alongside rising stars Shameik Moore, and Jane Levy.

Set in New York City in the 1980s, it follows two college friends (Kilmer and Moore) who fall in love with the same girl (Levy), which creates a unique love story between the threesome that spans a decade.

Jack was most recently seen on screens opposite Ryan Gosling in 'The Nice Guys'.
