James Franco has thrown his support behind gay drama I Want Your Love, a film that has been banned by Australian censors.
The movie feature gay sex scenes but was considered to be too explicit for release in Australia.
But Franco has spoke out in support for the film calling for the ban to be lifted.
In a video shown on YouTube, the Oz The Great And Powerful star said: "This is just such a disappointment to me and seems really silly.
"I don't know why in this day and age something like this, a film that's using sex not for titillation but to talk about being human, is being banned."
While Franco does not appear in this movie he had collaborated with the director Travis Mathews on another project.
I Want Your Love marks the feature length directorial debut of Mathews while Jesse Metzger and Brontez Purnell are on the cast list.
As for Franco he is back on the big screen this week with his new film Oz The Great And Powerful.
I Want Your Love was released in the UK last year.
