Suicide Squad is set to be one of the big summer movies and will see David Ayer back in the director's chair as he tackles the comic book movie for the first time.

While an impressive cast has been assembled for the film, everyone is talked about and is excited to see Leto take over the role of the Joker. And the Oscar winning actor looks set to deliver another terrific performance.

Speaking to Total Film, Ayer said: "What Jared has done is absolutely incredible. When he steps onto the set the world stops.

"Everything stops. What he's done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he's so fascinating."

Suicide Squad is the first time that Leto has worked with Ayer - this is also the first feature film for Leto since he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club.

Leto is an actor who works sparingly, but when he does appear on the big screen, it is a performance that you cannot afford to miss; it looks like he is set to continue that fine trend with Suicide Squad.

The actor is part of a great ensemble cast as Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Scott Eastwood, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne are all set to star.

We are also going to see Ben Affleck make a cameo appearance as Batman.

Suicide Squad follows a group of supervillains who are recruited by a secret government agency to take on some dangerous ops missions in exchange for clemency.

Suicide Squad is released 5th August.
