Jem And The Holograms

We may have to wait until December before Jem And The Holograms hits the big screen, but the first poster for the highly anticipated movies has arrived.

Jem And The Holograms is a live action adaptation of the iconic Hasbro animated television series that ran from 1985 to 1988 and sees Jon M. Chu back in the director's chair.

Chu has brought us movies such as Step Up 2: The Streets and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, but this is his first feature film since documentary Justin Bieber's Believe.

Aubrey Peeples is set to take on the central role of Gem and is joined on the cast list by Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau, Hayley Kiyoko, Ryan Guzman, Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis.

Peeples has worked mostly in television during her career so far - best known for her role as Layla Grant in series Nashville - and Jen and the Holograms is set to be her biggest movie role yet and the film that sends her star rocketing.

As a small-town girl catapults from underground video sensation to global superstar, she and her three sisters begin a one-in-a-million journey of discovering that some talents are too special to keep hidden.

In Universal Pictures' Jem and the Holograms, four aspiring musicians will take the world by storm when they see that the key to creating your own destiny lies in finding your own voice.

Jem and The Holograms is released 21st December.
