Jude Law

Jude Law is set to star in new film Genius.

Genius is an adaptation of the biography by Scott Berg about the relationship between writer Thomas Wolfe and his editor Max Perkins, which will be directed by Michael Grandage.

Law is set to play the writer Wolfe, while Colin Firth will take on the role of Perkins. Nicole Kidman is also on board.

Director Michael Grandage - best known for his theatre work and making his movie debut - is planning to begin pre-production in August and the film will start shooting in October.

The project was first announced in 2012 as 'Max Perkins: Editor Of Genius' and had Firth attached along with 'Shame' star Michael Fassbender.

And Law's casting is the second time he has joined a project after Fassbender has departed.

The Irish actor had been due to play the hero in 'Jane Got A Gun', but left and had Joel Edgerton switch sides from playing villain to take on his role, with Law subsequently cast in the baddie guise, though he also eventually departed the project before it began shooting.

Law was back on the big screen earlier this year in The Grand Budapest Hotel, which was directed by Wes Anderson.

He has also completed work on Black Sea and is currently filming Spy.
