Lionsgate are believed to be in talks to make a Hillary Clinton biopic.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the studio is interested in making Rodham, Temple Hill and The Arlook Group's biopic about the former first lady.
James Ponsoldt has already signed on to direct the project, while Young-Il Kim has penned the screenplay.
It is believed that Ponsoldt has already approached Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan to take on the role of Hillary Clinton in the film.
However, Mulligan is not the only actress in the running as the likes of Jessica Chastain, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlet Johansson are also being considered.
The film will centre around Clinton's formative years as a young lawyer on the committee involved in President Richard Nixon's impeachment, as well as her unresolved feelings for future president and husband Bill Clinton.
Ponsoldt made his feature film directorial debut with Off The Black back in 2006, and has gone on to helm Smashed and The Spectacular Now.
Rodham is set for a 2016 release.
