Luke Evans

Luke Evans says he feels very 'invested' in Dracula Untold because he has worked so closely with the director on the script and the character.

Evans will be back on the big screen this autumn as he takes on the role of Vlad Tepes in a new retelling of the Dracula story.

Dracula Untold is the biggest lead role of Evans' film career, and he reveals that he has invested a lot in this role and this project.

Speaking to Collider, the actor said: "I’ve been playing with this script for about eight to nine months, which is quite a long time before starting a movie, and working with Gary on the script and talking to him on a weekly basis from wherever we were in the world, so there’s been a lot of dialogue and a lot of conversations about his journey and loads of change in that time and it’s been great for that reason.

"I feel very invested in it even though I’ve been doing other projects and finishing The Hobbit, and I did another movie."

Dracula Untold sees Evans work with director Gary Shore for the first time, while Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, and Charles Dance are just some of the other names on board.

It is going to be a busy autumn for Evans, as he will also be starring in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

The actor is currently filming High Rise - the new film from director Ben Wheatley - and will take on the central role in the remake of The Crow.

Dracula Untold is released 3rd October.
