Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong'o is the latest actress to be linked to a role in Star Wars: Episode VII.

Nyong'o is believed to have met with J.J. Abrams to discuss starring in the lead female role in the film, before she triumphed at the Oscars earlier this month.

Nyong'o has seen her star rocket this year due to a stunning performance in 12 Years A Slave, a performance for which she received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar just a couple of weeks ago.

Bosses are remaining tight-lipped on the role Nyong'o has been discussing, but it is believed the character could be linked to Obi-Wan Kenobi, which has been described as a non-Caucasian part.

Nyong'o is just the latest in a long line of stars who have been linked to roles in the highly anticipated film.

In recent weeks we have heard that Jesse Plemons, John Boyega and Ed Speelers have been associated with the project.

Adam Driver is believed to be in final negotiations to take on the role of a villain. However, all that is yet to be confirmed.

So far, there has been no official word about who is going to star in the new film.

As for Nyong'o, she can currently be seen on the big screen in action film Non-Stop.
