Manglehorn

Manglehorn

Al Pacino is set to return to the big screen with Manglehorn, and the first image from the film has been released.

Pacino features in that image as Worldview Entertainment give us our first glimpse of the character A.J. Manglehorn.

Manglehorn will see Pacino team up with director David Gordon Green, while Paul Logan has penned the screenplay.

Green has delivered movies such as Pineapple Express and The Sitter. Manglehorn is the first of two directorial outing for Green this year; Joe will be hitting UK cinema screens this July.

The director has brought together a great cast as Pacino stars alongside Chris Messina and Holly Hunter.

AJ Manglehorn is an aging, ordinary guy in a small town. He nurses his sick cat, squeezes out a conversation with the local bank teller every Friday, and eats at the same place every day.

But there is more to Manglehorn than meets the eye: he’s an ex-con who, 40 years ago, gave up the woman of his dreams for a big ‘job’.

He now obsesses daily over the choices he made. After a dramatic effort to start over, Manglehorn faces a terrifying moment and is unmasked as a guy with a very, very dark past.

As for Pacino, we will also be seeing him star in Imagine later this year.

Imagine is the latest film from director and writer Dan Fogelman, and will also star Katarina Cas and Jennifer Garner.

Manglehorn is released later this year.
