Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard has described her new movie The Immigrant as an intimate story.

The Oscar winning actress has teamed up with director James Gray to tell a very personal story of Polish immigration in New York - a film which also stars Jeremy Renner and Joaquin Phoenix.

Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actress said: It’s a very personal movie for James. And what’s beautiful is that it’s a costume drama built on the scale of this little lady.

"It could be a big epic about a Polish immigrant coming to New York. But it’s an intimate work, a portrait, a character study.

We haven't seen Cotillard on the big screen since her fantastic turn in Rust and Bone at the end of last year.

The movie sees her team up with Gray for the very first time in what is his first film in the director's chair since Two Lovers - he has brought us the likes of Little Odessa and The Yards over the years.

We are also going to be seeing Cotillard in Blood Ties this year as she teams up with Zoe Saldana and Clive Owen.
