Mark Hamill says that his appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII is not 'decided yet'.

Ever since it was announced that another Star Wars movie was in the pipeline, Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford have been expected to reprise their original roles.

Earlier this week it seemed that Fisher had confirmed that she would be returning - however, it is still uncertain if Hamill will be back.

He told fans during a Reddit Ask Me Anything chat: "The only character I know for sure is returning is my friend R2-D2. He hasn't stopped beeping about it.

"Haha. I'm not being coy, really. When I find something out, I'll let everybody know. But nothing has been decided yet."

Star Wars: Episode VII will see J.J. Abrams taking over the director's chair, but no actor has yet been confirmed.

The likes of Saoirse Ronan, Simon Pegg, Benedict Cumberbatch and Ryan Gosling have been linked with the movie over the last twelve months, but nothing has been confirmed.

1983 was the last time that Hamill took on the role of Luke Skywalker on the big screen as the original trilogy came to a close.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set for an 18th December 2015 release date, and filming is set to get underway later this year.
