Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas has landed the role of Hank Pym in Ant-Man.

Douglas celebrated a Golden Globe win on Sunday night, and now he has a major Marvel role to also be excited about.

Douglas will star alongside Paul Rudd, who will take on the role of Scott Lang. In the comics Pym is the original Ant-Man before the role was passed on to Lang.

Marvel announced the casting of Douglas, and Feige made this statement: "With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves.

"We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn't be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life."

Ant-Man will see Edgar Wright in the director's chair and will kick off Phase Three of Marvel movies in the summer of 2015.

The movie will follow on from The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will bring Phase Two to a close.

Douglas returned to the big screen earlier this month with Last Vegas, and has also completed work on The Reach and And So It Goes.
