Michael Fassbender has called his Oscar nomination a 'real honour'.
Fassbender picked up a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his fantastic performance in 12 Years A Slave.
Speaking to ET, the actor said: "I'm really chuffed with the Oscar nomination especially being recognized alongside such great actors. It's a real honour."
This marks the first Oscar nomination for Fassbender, after being overlooked a couple of years ago for his performance in Shame.
Fassbender is nominated alongside Jared Leto, Jonah Hill, Bradley Cooper and Barkhad Abdi.
12 Years A Slave ended up with nine Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor, Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong’o and Best Director for Steve McQueen.
12 Years A Slave is the first film that we will be seeing Fassbender star in this year, as he has also completed work on Slow West, X-Men: Days of Future Past and a Terrence Malick film.
The Oscar winners will be announced 2nd March.
