Michael Fassbender has confirmed that he will be returning for a Prometheus sequel.

Fassbender took on the role of android David in the first film, and now it seems that he will be reuniting with director Ridley Scott.

Fassbender is currently on a promotional tour for X-Men: Days of Future Past, when he was asked about Prometheus 2 by Collider.

When asked if looking forward to working with Scott for a second time, he said: "For sure. I love Ridley. He’s a master filmmaker."

James McAvoy was also in the interview, turned to Fassbender and asked "Are you doing a sequel?" Fassbender told his co-star "Yeah, but when I don’t know.

Prometheus hit the big screen back in 2012, and enjoyed both critical and commercial success.

There has been talks about a sequel for some time, but this is the first time that Fassbender has revealed that he is on board.

Noomi Rapace is also expected to reprise her lead role as Elizabeth Shaw.
