Michael Fassbender says there was a 'Jackman' effect to training for X-Men:Days of Future Past.

Both Fassbender and Hugh Jackman are set to return to their role as Magneto and Wolverine this month in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Fassbender has heaped praise on his co-star's work ethic as he got in shape for the film. Admitting the everyone trained harder to keep up with him.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, the actor said: "His discipline is incredible - he is up and in the gym at 4.30 in the morning, every morning.

"When we arrived there was a 'Jackman' effect and we all started training to try and keep up."

Days of Future Past is the follow up to X-Men: First Class, and will see Fassbender and Jackman work together for the first time.

Fassbender will play Mangeto for the second time in the film, while Jackman has played Wolverine in every X-Men movie to hit the big screen since 2000.

Bryan Singer is back in the director's chair for his first X-Men film since the success of X2.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is released 22nd May.
