An extended version of 'One Direction: This Is Us' is set for release on Friday (20.09.13).

The longer cut 3D movie starring the boy band heartthrobs - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - will be available in UK cinemas at the end of this week after fans around the globe complained because it was only originally obtainable in the US and Canada.

The latest film, 'One Direction: This Is Us - Extended Fan Cut', will have some fresh footage and four extra songs on offer.

Jeff Blake, Chairman of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures, said: "We're overwhelmed by the response to the film, so we're thrilled to be able to release this extended cut of the film for One Direction fans."

The movie - which follows the British boy band as they travel the world on their 'Take Me Home' world tour and illiterates their rise to fame - topped both the UK and the US box office in the opening week with an estimated $58 million worldwide.

While impressive for a musical documentary, 'This Is Us' failed to top the opening of 'Michael Jackson's This Is It', which took £4.9 million in its opening weekend in November 2009 - just months after the iconic singer's death.
