Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

Tom Cruise is set to return to the role of Ethan Hunt this summer as he leads an all-star cast in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.

It was back in 1996 when Cruise took on this role for the first time - yes, it really was back in 1996 - and it has been four years since we last saw him play hunt in Ghost Protocol.

Cruise is not the only familiar face in Rogue Nation as Jeremy Renner is also back as William Brandt. Rebecca Ferguson and Alec Baldwin are two of the big new additions to the cast list and they all feature in these brand new character posters:

The cast list is completed by Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames are they are also back as Benji Dunn and Luther Stickell. This will be the third Mission: Impossible movie for Pegg, while Rhames has been with the franchise since the very beginning.

There is also a new face in the director's chair as Christopher McQuarrie is at the helm for the first time. This is the second collaboration between McQuarrie and Cruise - they first worked together on Jack Reacher.

With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan (Cruise) out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate. These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks.

Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust (Ferguson), who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is released 30th July.
