The movie has already topped the U.S. box office this week and now the movie has toppled Inside Out here in the UK as it grossed over £5 million in its opening weekend on release.

Rogue Nation is the fifth Mission: Impossible film to hit the big screen and sees Tom Cruise reprise the role of Ethan Hunt - a role he played for the first time back in 1996.

Inside Out, which passed the $600 million mark at the box office earlier this week, slipped just a single place to number two.

The latest offering from Pixar is winning over audiences and critics and is already being labelled the favourite for the Best Animated Feature Oscar.

Southpaw was a movie on the up this week as the Jake Gyllenhaal boxing film jumped one from four to number three. However, Ant-Man was sown two this week as the Marvel film slipped from two to number four. We are going to be seeing Paul Rudd reprise the role of Scott Lang next year when he appears in Captain America: Civil War.

Minions was another two place faller as it rounded off the top five. Minions is the first solo film for these popular characters and the movie has already grossed in excess of $856 million worldwide.

Jurassic World fell out of the top five for the first time as it slipped a single place from five to six - it has already been announced that a sequel is set to hit the big screen in 2018.

Hot Pursuit, which sees Reese Witherspoon team up with Sofia Vergara for the first time, was the second and final new entry inside the top ten as it opened at number seven. The Empire Strikes Back - which is being shown as part of Secret Cinema - was the second film on the up as it jumped a single place to eight.

Ted 2 was this week's biggest faller as the comedy dropped three places from six to nine. Bajrangi Bhaijaan rounded off the top ten this week as it slipped two spots from last week's number eight.
