Pan is set to hit the big screen on June 26th 2015, according to Warner Bros.

Pan is the latest adaptation of the J.M. Barrie novel Peter Pan, and will see British filmmaker Joe Wright in the director’s chair.

According to Deadline.com, 'Pan will look into the origins of Scottish novelist J. M. Barrie's classic character, Peter Pan, an orphan who is taken to the magical world of Neverland where he goes into battle against the evil pirates and becomes a hero among the natives.

Wright's offering is set to make a drastic change from past adaptations of the Peter Pan story which included 'Hook' starring Robin Williams in 1991 and Disney's 1953 animation classic.

Wright is no stranger to adaptations as a director having been behind the likes of Pride and prejudice and Atonement during his career.

We last saw Wright in the director’s chair for the adaptation of Anna Karenina, a movie that saw him reunite with actress Keira Knightley.

At the moment, no cast has yet been announced for Pan. However, it was reported earlier this autumn that Javier Bardem was in talks for the role of Blackbeard.

Peter Pan was brought to the big screen by Disney back in 1953, and we have seen live action movies such as Hook and Peter Pan in more recent years.
